When you’re overweight, it’s easy to let the number on the scale negatively define who you are and what you’re worth!
~Don’t dwell on guilt! Let go of what you did last year, yesterday, and even one hour ago-you can’t change any of that! All you can do is go forward!
~Losing weight is as much about reworking our mental beliefs as it is about diet and exercise! Work on identifying and changing your self-defeating behavior and attitudes!
~Whenever those negative thoughts that say “you can’t, you aren’t good enough, or you won’t make it” pop into your head, make a conscious effort to replace them with thoughts that say “you can and you will reach your goal!”
~Take a long-range approach! When you feel overwhelmed, remember it’s all about small changes and small choices. Take it one day at a time, one pound at a time!
~Don’t wait until you lose the weight to pay attention to your appearance! Wear flattering clothes, and do your hair and makeup every day. You’ll feel more confident!
~Talk about how you’re feeling, and get support from others who understand.
