How To Combat Aging With Exercise:
Getting older doesn’t have to mean getting weaker. A recent study found that the muscle loss we associate with aging actually has more to do with inactivity.
When researchers compared the quads of 40- and 70-year-old athletes who worked out four to five times a week, they discovered the older group were nearly as strong as those almost half their age.
Bottom line: Use it or lose it! No matter how old you are, strength training two or three times a week will leave you strong and fierce.
15 to 34%! How much more often women 40 to 60 worked out when they reminded themselves it would make them “feel better now,” instead of focusing on the long-term health benefits.

I was at the GYM for 6:00 this morning and I have my “feel good endorphins” floating all around me. Have a terrific day Everybody!

Great post! I remember being astounded the first time I was shown studies in class about how your age is largely just a number. Your lifestyle determines your health, fitness, and quality of life.
Thanks so much. I appreciate your comment. I truly believe if we take care of ourselves the best we can as we age it helps tons! Have a great weekend. Renee
I’m about to walk with Copper, then shopping, yard work (and blogging in-between)! I always love your inspiration, Renee! Have a great day!

Hello Lauren. YOU and Copper have a terrific walk and I hope the sun is shining for you both. Thank you for your kind words.
It is so nice to see your lovely, new photo as I type.

I always have my “feel-goods” going on every morning after trotting a circuit or two around my fenced yard with my dogs! Birds singing, dogs frolicking in adoration of their goofy mommy, neighbors riding by that crazy woman’s house and waving anyway! Yes, weight training works for us senior citizens just fine!
You bet it does!! If we lived closer we would have so much fun on our walks. Enjoy them all! WE are strong women and proud of it!!
