Being Appreciative

The clock on this quote shows about the time I am awake to get ready for my GYM Workout. Early mornings work best for me.

Once I get up and walk the kinks out I am on my way. I was in a car accident a few years ago and live with chronic pain in my upper back and arthritic neck due to disc damage.  My left knee is arthritic under the knee cap and a large benign tumor on the side of it.

A new injury in my left arm and rotator cuff has set me back a wee bit. I am not perfect! There are days that I do get frustrated with pain. As one dear friend explained to me that this is the ‘new me’.

I deal with it all quite well as I have  terrific support from my Hubby and family. The determination is there for me to never allow the pain to consume me. That is why I think of myself as a ‘strong Lady’. I will deal with it the best I can and come out of it “the winner”.

I truly believe that my “attitude” towards the pain is important.

I am not a “woe is me” kind of Lady. With the different aches and pains I shared I only hope to inspire others to take care of your body the best you can.

I will continue with my workouts, power walks and going to the GYM as long as I am able. Keeping my muscles strong helps all the other issues.

My gratitudes are still many! I am most grateful that I am able to attend a GYM and still do the workouts that I do. The weights have been lighter to help my muscles and not aggravate the shoulder.

Happy Monday Everybody. Thank you to all  my fantastic followers and to all of you that stop in from time to time to ‘like’ a post or just to take a ‘peek’. I appreciate every comment I receive.  I started my little Blog in January and was so nervous and at times still am. I have 107 followers and over 5000 hits as of today and with that I am grateful.

There is so much to learn and am having fun learning new things every day.

  1. I am so with you! I have pain in my wrists, elbows, ankles and hips (my knees are good!) We walk and garden and I, too, started my blog with the aim of keeping on top of it all – and it certainly helps!
We are on much the same track with our followers and hits too! It’s very pleasing isn’t it?
    All the best to you:)

    • Yes it is very pleasing Sally. Sorry to hear you have your issues too. You seem like a positive lady and staying active and that is so important. All the best to you as well. :)

  2. Renee, I’m sorry to hear the pain you experience, but I do love your attitude and you’re right. It makes a world of difference…I have never had aches and pains and just recently, my right thigh and hip have been aching, but not bad and very infrequent. I’m not sure what it is, but it feels good to walk it out…oh, the joys of growing older! Anyway, Happy Tuesday! :)

    • Thank you Lauren. You know I was always so proud that I had no aches and pains. And then l I had that rear ender car accident a number of years ago and how that has changed my life for me. It has been new learning curves for me and some days are worse than others. I do get through my days quite well! Keep up your walking. Good for you my friend. :)

      • Well, I’m glad that the ramifications weren’t worse than they are after the accident, Renee! Although, even the little pain I’ve had is annoying, so being in pain constantly is tough. I hit my head once, a couple of years ago, right on the left temple and had horrible headaches and neck aches for 3 months. I had a mri and all was fine. However, it was tough going through life and work, but after 3 months, the pain dissipated, so my point is, I sympathize because it’s not easy living life and being in pain constantly. Okay, now I’m rambling and probably because I just woke up! So…have a wonderful day and feel good! :) Hugs!

      • HI Lauren, so happy to hear you are not in constant pain as I so understand. Yes I deal with chronic pain everyday and like I said a friend of mine said this is just the ‘new me’ now. I deal with it all quite well and my hubby is my biggest supporter.
I was at the GYM this morning and was careful with my arm and neck and glad I was able to do some things with light weights. I live with headaches on and off throughout my day so I empathize when you went through your pains. I really am not a complainer and actually do get through my days with laughter and prayer. Have a super day. I am rambling now, maybe it is those “feel good endorphins” I just got after my workout. :) hugs.

Have a fabulous day!
