Find Something That Works For You

2012_03072012MarchADAM0038

This photo was taken last Spring with my grand son at the top of the stairs. He said one time was enough for him.

If I am not at the gym I am out running on the stairs. It feels good to change my workouts and it makes my body wonder what I am up to today.

I run up and down these stairs a half dozen times and then run behind them and there are more stairs for me to play on. Great exercise!

I also managed to get in a 2 mile run. I hope you can find what works for you.

Thank-you for visiting my blog and have yourself a wonderful day.

1. People who "hate getting old" are idiots. Every year is a privilege. Let me tell you, callow miserabilists: getting to 60 feels like a triumph.

Do You Eat Breakfast?

I have heard many times the importance of starting my day with a nutritious breakfast. I am sharing my breakfast that I have been enjoying so much. My daughter always says it is so good to eat oatmeal as “it sticks to her ribs”. It keeps us full longer and of course so delicious.

I use Quaker Oatmeal and I find by pouring the boiling water in my bowl and adding the seeds it only takes a few minutes and it is ready to eat after I put in a variety of fruits. I have used strawberries as well.

My Breakfast~

1/4 cup oatmeal

1/2 cup boiling water

1 tsp. chia seeds

1 tsp. sesame seeds

1 tsp. hemp hearts

2 tsp. ground flax seeds

ginger root

banana, orange

almond milk

I am consistent at the gym and a few times a week I am out power walking, running and stair climbing. Never to old for fitness.

My favorite Man joins me on my walks when he can.

God is Missing

A smile to share with you all.

Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous. They are always getting into trouble and their parents know if any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.

The boys’ mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he  would speak with her boys. The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually.

The mother sent the 8 year old in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon.

The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, “Do you know where God is, son?”

The boy’s mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open.

So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, “Where is God?!

Again, the boy made no attempt to answer.

The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy’s face and bellowed, “WHERE IS GOD?!”

The boy screamed & bolted from the room, ran directly home & dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, “What happened?”

The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, “We are in BIG trouble this time!”

“GOD is missing, and they think WE did it!”

What a better way to start my gym workout! My daughter is not always able to make it to the gym as she does work full time. She worked it out this morning that she could come and join me, and then she is off for a hike after work.

It warms my heart to share gym workouts with my girl. I love you.

Thank-you for reading my blog and hopefully I can inspire you to start a fitness program, even if it is just going for a short walk. Start slow and a step at a time, you will be amazed on how great you will feel.

We can all be an inspiration~

Walk for your Health~

August2012 034

A photo taken last summer. My Hubby and I had gone to the Othello Tunnels in Hope, British Columbia, Canada. Very beautiful all through these tunnels.

I know many of you know how I love my fitness. My husband is not able to join me often, as he is not retired just yet. It is a treat to get out for a walk or a hike together. My Hubby is not a runner, and says he will leave that for me. Silly guy.

I did get some stair climbing done this morning and a 2 mile Run. I tell my husband that it does not matter what he does as long as he is walking or other activities he is doing good for his body as he ages.

I am determined to try my best to keep us baby boomers as healthy as I can.

I hope you were able to do some kind of fitness today.
