Garden of Philosophy

Plant four rows of peas-

      Personality,

      Perseverance,

       Promptness,

       Preparation.

Plant four rows of lettuce-

Let us obey rules and regulations,

Let us be true to our obligation,

Let us be faithful to duty,

Let us love one and another.

Plant four rows of squash-

      Squash gossip,

      Squash indifference,

      Squash criticism,

      Squash negative thinking.

Plant four rows of turnips-

      Turn up for meetings,

      Turn up with a smile,

      Turn up with new ideas,

      Turn up with determination.

Positive Thinking Wins~

1

Ten Commandments of Human Relations

1. Speak to People-there is nothing so nice as a cheerful word of greeting.

2. Smile at People-it takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.

3. Call People-the sweetest music to anyone’s ears is the sound of his own name.

4. Be Friendly-and helpful, if you would have friends, be a friend.

5. Be Cordial-speak and act as if everything you do is a genuine pleasure.

6. Be Genuinely interested in people-you can like almost everybody if you try.

7. Be Generous with praise-cautious with criticism.

8. Be Considerate with feelings of others-there are usually three sides to a controversy: yours, the other fellow’s, and the right side.

9. Be Alert to give service-what counts most in life is what we do for others.

10.Add to this a good sense of humour, a big dose of patience and a dash of humility, and you will be rewarded many-fold.

Do You Worry About Those 10 Pounds?

Gain a year by dropping your diet!

Struggling to lose those last 10 pounds?

Stop trying!

Women who are a few pounds overweight actually outlive those in the “normal” BM range, reveals a just-released National Center for Health Statistics analysis that included nearly 3 million people.

Lead study author Katherine M. Flegal, Ph.D., explains that slightly heavier folks tend to visit the doctor more often for health screenings, so they catch problems earlier and can nip them in the bud.

What’s more, a little extra weight helps you recover from illnesses more successfully by giving you a reserve of body fat that keeps your immune system strong!

More good news about those extra 10 pounds!

They erase years! Want proof?

A study by plastic surgeons of the faces of female identical twins revealed that the slightly overweight twins looked about five years younger than their sisters.

A few extra pounds plump up skin, making it look more youthful by removing wrinkles!

Interesting article I found to share with you. I had been told that being ‘too thin’ can make one look less youthful as they age. I try to do the best I can and continue with my fitness.

I never like using the word, “diet”, as I like to think of it as a “life style change.”

I have been at the gym early this morning and always grateful to be a morning person. Have yourself a wonderful Monday~

A Spiritual Tonic

10 Spiritual Tonics~

1. Stop worrying. Worry kills life.

2.Begin each day with a prayer. It will arm your soul.

3.Control appetite. Over-indulgence clogs body and mind.

4. Accept your limitations.

5. Don’t envy. It wastes time and energy.

6. Have Faith in people. Cynicism sours the disposition.

7. Find a hobby. It will relax your nerves.

8. Read a book a week to stimulate imagination and broaden your views.

9. Spend some time alone for the peace of solitude and silence.

10. Try to want what you have, instead of spending your strength trying to get what you want.    10 spiritual tonics
