This morning did not start as planned. My Husband had just left for work and I was getting ready to head out to the gym. My car door was frozen! Yikes! Once I get outside and it’s dark I don’t really want to have to go back in house. I had no choice! I tried to pour some warm water on the window and door and that didn’t work as it was frozen solid. I tried several more times and being out there alone I thought it best to leave it and change my plans.
I just got in from a 6.5 km/4 mile walk. What a walk! I was trudging through the snow. One man went by me and said, “Another crazy person”. ha ha. I said, “It takes a lot to stop me from my fitness.”
I feel great and am ready to get on with my day. Happy Friday to you all.

Mother Teresa has given us many fine thoughts, but this one, I think, ranks among her best:
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfil it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

“Reading is important — read between the lines. Don’t swallow everything.”
– Gwendolyn Brooks
About Gwendolyn Brooks
In 1950, poet Gwendolyn Brooks became the first African-American awarded a Pulitzer Prize. She was born in 1917 in Kansas and grew up in Chicago.
Her poetry often evokes the environment of Chicago’s tough South Side neighborhood. In later years her work became more overtly political, though she continued to combine an understanding of traditional forms like sonnets and ballads with the rhythm of the blues and experimental verse. She died in 2000.
I LOVE to read! I often thank God that I am able to read and write and have always excelled in spelling. It is something I am proud of! My coffee table always has a few different books that hold my interest.
Books I am reading now.
1. A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks.
2. Women, Food and God by Geneen Roth
3. How to Get Kids to Help at Home by Elva Anson
4. Younger Next Year for Women by Chris Crowley & Henry S. Lodge, M.D. (Huge thank you to my niece, Miranda for telling me about this book) Excellent book.
So there are some of my good reads! I have enjoyed reading since I was a little girl and couldn’t imagine not having a book close by.
Curl up with a good book and enjoy your day!

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. |
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis once said, a ‘sweet duty.’
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God’s guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger- the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves to God and others. As the Bible says, ‘The least shall be the greatest among you.’ Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
Another one of my favorite prayers. I found this in my collection and unfortunately I cannot remember where it came from. I have printed it off on pretty paper.
It is a framer!
