Be An Inspiration

Sweating at the gym with my daughter is the best~

Beautiful Cherub given to me by my son and daughter-in-law for Mother’s Day. The smaller Cherub was one I had bought and I thought they look so beautiful together. Thank-you to my grown kidlets. I love you.

What a better way to start my gym workout! My daughter is not always able to make it to the gym as she does work full time. She worked it out this morning that she could come and join me, and then she is off for a hike after work.

It warms my heart to share gym workouts with my girl. I love you.

Thank-you for reading my blog and hopefully I can inspire you to start a fitness program, even if it is just going for a short walk. Start slow and a step at a time, you will be amazed on how great you will feel.

We can all be an inspiration~

Wake Up With Determination ~

I pray you do have the power and determination to get through each day. My determination gets me to the gym three times a week. I am up with the birds and sometimes I think before they are even awake.

I will be outdoors enjoying this glorious, sunny day. We have had so much rain in April that I am looking forward to more of this sunshine.

Thank-you for visiting my blog, as I appreciate you.

A Great Lesson on Stress

A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience with a raised glass of water.

Everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, ‘half empty or half full?’

She fooled them all . “How heavy is this glass of water?” she inquired with a smile.

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. To 20 oz.
She replied , “The absolute weight doesn’t matter.

It depends on how long I hold it.

If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance.

In each case it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She continued, “and that’s the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on.”

“As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden – holding stress longer and better each time practiced.

So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night… Pick them up tomorrow.

1 * Accept the fact that some days you’re the pigeon, and some days you’re the statue!

2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

4 * Drive carefully… It’s not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.

5 * If you can’t be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

8 * Never buy a car you can’t push.

9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won’t have a leg to stand on.

10 * Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.

11 * Since it’s the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 * When everything’s coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.

14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

15 * Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.

16  * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.

17 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

18 * Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
19 *Save the earth….. It’s the only planet with chocolate.

                      Have An Awesome Day~

Garden of Philosophy

Plant four rows of peas-

      Personality,

      Perseverance,

       Promptness,

       Preparation.

Plant four rows of lettuce-

Let us obey rules and regulations,

Let us be true to our obligation,

Let us be faithful to duty,

Let us love one and another.

Plant four rows of squash-

      Squash gossip,

      Squash indifference,

      Squash criticism,

      Squash negative thinking.

Plant four rows of turnips-

      Turn up for meetings,

      Turn up with a smile,

      Turn up with new ideas,

      Turn up with determination.

Positive Thinking Wins~

1

Ten Commandments of Human Relations

1. Speak to People-there is nothing so nice as a cheerful word of greeting.

2. Smile at People-it takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.

3. Call People-the sweetest music to anyone’s ears is the sound of his own name.

4. Be Friendly-and helpful, if you would have friends, be a friend.

5. Be Cordial-speak and act as if everything you do is a genuine pleasure.

6. Be Genuinely interested in people-you can like almost everybody if you try.

7. Be Generous with praise-cautious with criticism.

8. Be Considerate with feelings of others-there are usually three sides to a controversy: yours, the other fellow’s, and the right side.

9. Be Alert to give service-what counts most in life is what we do for others.

10.Add to this a good sense of humour, a big dose of patience and a dash of humility, and you will be rewarded many-fold.

A Dog’s Purpose?   (from a 6-year-old).

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker.

The dog’s owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle. I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer.

I told the family we couldn’t do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker’s family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker’s transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker’s death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.

Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ”I know why.”

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I’d never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live.

He said,”People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?”

The Six-year-old continued,

”Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”
Live simply.

Love generously.

Care deeply.

Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you’re not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

My Daddy passed away April 1, 1989 and  April Fool’s Day was changed for me from that day on.

It doesn’t bother me if others have their pranks and silliness on April 1st, it just is not there for me. My Daddy was in my thoughts more than usual and I just couldn’t think of what to really focus on for my blog.

Thank-you for visiting my blog~
