In a University of Rochester study, the more anxiety prone adults rocked back and forth, the calmer they felt. In fact, those who rocked for 30 minutes daily enjoyed a 30% decrease in stress and even required less medication for stress-induced symptoms such as headaches!

How it works: The rhythmic motion of rocking spurs the brain to produce feel-good neurotransmitters which calm nerves and help suppress pain signals.

We all have stress from time to time. It is on how we cope with the bumps in the road! I am a worrier and continue to work at relaxing more.  I truly believe that “God will always give me what I need.”  Maybe I need to buy myself a rocking chair as it is calming and relaxing.

Rocking helps you sleep!

A new Swiss study shows that rocking right before turning in prompts sleep-boosting brain waves!

When My Son was  a year or so he had a rocking horse. He was tucked in his little bed and shortly after we heard this strange squeak coming from inside his bedroom  My Hubby and I peeked in his room and to our amazement he was sitting on his rocking horse with his eyes closed and rocking himself back and forth.

It was so precious to watch. As he went deeper into his slumber he tilted his body and laid on his bed sound asleep. Needless to say I never again tucked him in bed. To our surprise he never  fell off the rocking horse.

Precious memories of my Son that I again call, “Heart Prints”.

So yes, rocking will soothe you!

Sleep Slim Smoothie

The Sleep Doctor’s Sleep Slim Smoothie

Doze off and keep your metabolism burning through the night with this delicious smoothie courtesy of Dr. Michael Breus, PhD, The Sleep Doctor. Cherries are one of the richest known sources of melatonin, the sleep hormone that recent studies have shown can also help reverse the effects of aging, while bananas contain loads of magnesium, a calming mineral. Lastly, soy milk is high in tryptophan, the sleep-inducing amino acid. Sweet dreams!

Ingredients
1 cup tart cherry juice
1/2 banana
1/2 cup soy milk or 4-6 oz soy yogurt (if using soy yogurt, add an additional 1/2 cup fat-free milk)
5 ice cubes
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Directions
Combine the cherry juice, banana, milk or yogurt with fat-free milk, ice and vanilla in a blender. Blend until smooth.

The alarm went off!!

I hear the alarm and I think, “What is that!??” I am usually awake before it startles me. NO!! I hate “snooze buttons”. If the alarm has to wake me up I literally jump out of bed. I am amazed how committed I am  to the GYM. Pat on the back for me.

My GYM Workout lasted for close to 90 minutes and then I went tanning. I know! It is not supposed to be the best for me, the tanning that is. A girl has to dream of beaches in other countries when she is tired of winter.

I did have a terrific Workout!! Got my sweat on!! I do feel great.

I have been studying so much on how to put a blog together that my eyes are tired. I am enjoying all the wealth of information that ‘Word Press’ puts out for us bloggers. Thank you.

While my “feel good endorphins” are still purring I will get back to my studying.  Enjoy your day.
